As part of freecreditscore.com's season-long MLB sponsorship with the Arizona Diamondbacks, we aimed to blow-out fan bobblehead day.
Our strategy utilized social media to engage fans on #iScored Saturday with a statewide scavenger hunt leading up to the big event. In keeping with the sentiment of the campaign, we offered stellar prizes including a chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, meet their favorite player, or go to the game. Every inning there was something to score, like a chance to win upgrades by tweeting your seat, plus autograph giveaways and other promotional items.
As a first for both the Arizona Diamondbacks and freecreditscore.com, the hash tag #GoDbacks trended locally in Phoenix on game-day. More than 1,200 fans participated in the scavenger hunt and over 1K tweets were generated on the day-of-event. Over the eight day campaign we drove a 10% increase in Twitter followers to @freecreditscore and 10K+ hits to the dbacks.com/iscored page. In addition, we garnered 945K impressions and hundreds of comments on Facebook.
